Tips For Weight Loss Without Giving Up Nice Food

There is a big problem in life; all of the nicest foods are generally the ones that are not especially good for us, the sugary, fattening, ones.

As a result, anyone who wants to lose weight, stay in shape and be healthy is generally forced to give up all the nicest types of food and instead just eat boring salads and veg.

But this genuinely doesn’t have to be how it is. There is a happy medium where you can be thin and healthy without giving up your favorite foods.

Here’s how:

Eat Anything In Moderation

If you are disciplined there is really no need to ban any food from your diet. In fact that can be a bad thing because it just makes the diet harder to maintain.

If you deprive yourself of chocolate ice cream, you might eventually break and then on it; setting yourself back by weeks.

Alternatively, if you just learn to have as, you will not feel like you are depriving yourself so much. Just try to plan when you will treat yourself, so that you have something to look forward to.

If you schedule treats for yourself and set limits you are much more likely to stick to a smaller portion and not cheat between treats. The trick is finding the right level of naughtiness so that you keep yourself on track without indulging too much.

Learn To Make Good Choices

It is often small things that add big calories and can ruin your regime. Small changes to your favorite meals can make a big difference. For instance, a baked potato is a very healthy item, but if you add a slab of butter and piles of cheese, not so much.

Eating a potato with beans, or chilli and no butter might be hard at first, but once you get used to it, you will enjoy your food every bit as much, if not more.

Every time you eat out, consider asking for salad or veg instead of chips; go for light dressings and just avoid those little bits that add all of the calories. This is simply a case of habit, and once you get into it you will soon realize that you needn’t miss out.

Healthy Alternatives

Ok, with all of the above you are making a great start, but let’s face it – sometimes you just want a treat; this is fine, cheating on your diet every so often is probably a good thing.

But if you can find ways to make your favorite high calorie foods that bit healthier, or find a healthier alternative to them you will be saving yourself a few more sins. Force yourself to question assumptions about what you can and can’t live without.

Avoid Starvation

Above all else, don’t let yourself go hungry.  is as important as what types of food you actually consume. Hunger pangs are the biggest course of broken diets. Ensuring that you stay full and satisfied is the key to keeping on track with your diet.
