The Buzz in the Hive—Episode 11

Happy New Year from everyone at Hive Health Media. Let’s ring in the new year with some of the best posts from the past week. We hope you all have a happy, healthy, and productive 2011.

First off, Jarret from Supplement Updates provided endurance athletes with a ray of hope for producing new PR’s in 2011. It seems that has been shown to enhance your athletic performance by increasing the efficiency at which you use ATP, the energy that your muscles use to do work. If only beet juice tasted like gatorade!

Evelyn, from Become a Healthier You discussed what taught her. Possible benefits of becoming a vegan: fewer sweet cravings, more ethical food choices, and delicious food. But she recommends making the switch slowly, and warns that it’s not the panacea for weight loss.

Ashley, from Nourishing The Soul, shines a light on a horrible new show that pits engaged women against each other for a truly macabre prize:! Ashley writes:

Over at Health Habits, Doug has written about one of my favorite weight loss tools: the. He walks you through a very simple guide that makes it easy to keep track of what you eat. Then he shows us how to get our friends and family to hold us accountable to our weight loss goals, which is another of my favorite weight loss tools.

Finally, Kym and Alexandra, from Fun and Fit teased us all with a little bit of information about their upcoming New Year Fitness Challenge. They are calling it the New Year=New You 30 Day Challenge and they promise that it will get you headed in the right direction for 2011.
