Top 4 Reasons Why You’re Unable to Get Pregnant

Don’t you feel left out seeing pregnant bellies all around you when you visit your gynecologist? “Oh,?” Thousands of thoughts engulf your mind in trying to find an answer to this question.

You have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now but your pregnancy results are negative. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with you but your body does not work like a precision clock.

In spite of trying every, you’re still disappointed. But maybe there are a few small things that you’ve been overlooking, which are actually the main reasons why you’re unable to get pregnant. Given below are a few such things you might want to check:

1. Stress – How often have you been told to relax and let things take their course? This advice is the best that you can get. Although it is not easy to relax when you are trying to get pregnant and are unable to, stress is not going to help your cause. In fact, it increases adrenaline, which is not what you need. You need to be calm, balanced and relaxed and your body will understand that it is time for pregnancy. Beat stress with counseling, meditation, exercise or take up some work that you enjoy doing.

2. Sleeplessness – Sure, the worry of being unable to get pregnant keeps you awake at night. After all, your biological clock is ticking away and you can’t waste a lot of time. Or, it may be that you have too much work to do and so you cannot sleep on time. Whatever the reason may be, remember that if your body is not getting of the requisite hours of sleep, it will only add to the stress and prevent pregnancy.

Sleep deprivation also weakens the immune system, leading to infections that will ultimately affect your reproductive cycle. Get the required hours of sleep and keep yourself healthy. This will increase your chances of getting pregnant.

3. Weight – Another factor that is an obstacle in getting pregnant is weight – both overweight and underweight. If your body is undernourished, then it will not ovulate well and if your weight is excess, then your fertility is affected. Try to keep your Body Mass Index (BMI) at 25. More or less or it will affect the reproduction. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

4. Confusing Cycle – Most women do not understand their reproductive cycle. They know about the 28-day cycle that you would have learnt in your health class. But, it is not necessary that every woman has a 28-day cycle. This cycle can vary from woman to woman. To increase your chances of conceiving, monitor your ovulation cycle. Whatever your cycle, ovulation period is 2 weeks before your next period. Also, remember that a sperm has a 3-day life and sex on the day of ovulation is not essential.
